The brand MARPRO

In 2005 Jakob le Fevre oversaw sales for German equipment supplier SAM Electronics and at that time various internet based social media concepts was introduced.


Instead of signing up to all of them, Jakob le Fevre did an evaluation of the systems and concluded that LinkedIn was by far the most professional. He signed up and instantly started to build his network. In 2007 Jakob le Fevre was appointed Sales Director in Denmark based Gertsen & Olufsen (G&O) and at that time LinkedIn was strict with whom you could contact. Jakob le Fevre learned that owning a group would allow you to connect to the group members, so he started a group and decided to call it Maritime Professionals. Shortly after he added a professional logo and started to invite people and ensured that relevant content was uploaded on regular basis and screened all posts from members.

This group now has close to 40.000 members. In 2010 Jakob le Fevre realized that LinkedIn had no group for maritime deck officers and since this was his own background, it was natural for him to introduce the LinkedIn Group Maritime Deck Officers. This group now has approximately 16.000 members.

At a personal level, his personal LinkedIn network is now close to 9.000 connections and nearly 10.000 is following Jakob le Fevre.

Jakob le Fevre decided that the abbreviation of Maritime Professionals in the logo should be MARPRO and when he established his own limited company in 2013, he decided to name it MARPRO ApS. and obtained the domain
